Senior Data Engineer - ScienceSoft

We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with extensive hands-on experience in Snowflake to join our growing data team. The candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and solutions that empower data-driven decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate is proactive, independent, and comfortable driving work without waiting for instructions.

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and optimize Snowflake-based data solutions and pipelines.
Integrate data from various sources (cloud/on-premises) into the data warehouse.
Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance through best practices and monitoring.
Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and other engineers to meet data requirements.
Implement security and governance policies within the Snowflake environment.
Identify process bottlenecks and propose innovative solutions.
Document and communicate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

Technical Skills:

5+ years of experience in data engineering roles.
Strong expertise in Snowflake: data modeling, performance tuning, warehouse configuration, and cost optimization.
Proficiency in SQL and Python (or similar programming languages).
Experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Apache Airflow, Talend, Fivetran).
Solid understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Knowledge of data lake architectures, data governance, and security best practices.
Familiarity with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.

Soft Skills:

Strong English communication skills (B2–C1+), capable of clearly conveying ideas to both clients and teams.
Highly proactive, solution-oriented, and able to drive work independently.
Ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams.
Strong problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.

Other Requirements:

Based in Europe with availability to work in sync with US business hours (up to 4–5 pm CST).
Comfortable working with minimal supervision and taking ownership of deliverables.

SnowPro Core or Advanced Certification
Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau)
