Ulad Sinkevich

Ulad began his IT career in 2005, steadily progressing from hands-on Java development to strategic roles in architecture leadership. Before joining ScienceSoft, he spent nearly six years at a European software firm, honing his skills as a developer and team lead on Java enterprise projects. His early immersion in complex back-end systems laid a strong foundation for his deep technical expertise and pragmatic approach to enterprise software.

Ulad joined ScienceSoft in 2010 as a Web Development Project Manager. His strong ability to align business goals with technical execution quickly set him apart, leading to his appointment as Head of the Java Department. In this role, he doubled the size of the Java practice, achieved high maturity of Agile processes, and built a strong, cohesive team recognized for solving complex enterprise challenges with speed and quality. Over the years, Ulad has played a key role in delivering numerous technically demanding and strategically vital projects for ScienceSoft’s clients. For example, he designed the architecture of a nationwide eHealth portal that brings together patients, doctors, and lab professionals, supporting the full cycle of cancer diagnostics from sample collection to laboratory analysis and publishing results.

Now, in a key role within ScienceSoft’s Architecture and Solutions Center of Excellence, Ulad contributes to cross-project architectural consistency and innovation. He defines architecture best practices, fosters the reuse of effective design patterns, and evaluates new tools and technologies that strengthen delivery capabilities across teams. When needed, Ulad provides direct architectural support — reviewing artifacts, advising on tech stack trade-offs, and helping solve complex problems that can stall implementation. With a background in software engineering, project management, and department leadership, Ulad approaches architecture not as an isolated discipline but as an enabler of sustainable delivery, team alignment, and long-term business success.

Ulad is actively engaged in the professional community, sharing insights from the frontlines of software architecture and delivery. His recent publications explore software modularity, the trade-offs of reactivity in large systems, and cloud-native approaches to complex system design.
